Analyzing Competition Courses (download flyer)
6 weeks on Wednesdays, April and May 2025
This “pop up course” is designed to help those who struggle with how to “read/walk” courses to maximize:

Understanding the Dog’s path

Getting the dog on the correct lead leg

Timing commands to get the desired results
-
Positioning yourself to improve teamwork and communication
-
Maximizing independent obstacle performance
Each group limited to 8 participants and 4 auditors

Dates
4/9 – 5/14. South field. 6-7:30 pm Novice/Open level
6/ 4 – 7/9. South field. 7:30-9 pm. Novice/Open level
6/4 – 7/9. North field 7:30-9 pm. Elite level
If interest is high in the summer, an additional night may be added for a second class
Handler/dog requirements (handlers may only work one dog in a class)
Novice/Open course. Students must have competed at least Intermediate 1and have solid 6 weave pole skills.
Elite course. Students must have completed at least Intermediate 3, have qualified oh open level Regular courses and have solid 12 weave pole skills.
Novice/Open: course is numbered & broken down into 3 sequences (depending on course 1-5, 5-10, 10-15). Students run each sequence individually and get instruction. If time & energy/brain power allows, students have the option to run the full course in its entirety at the end. Detailed individual instruction will be provided for each student.
Elite: course is numbered and a distance box is placed for those that do distance. They will also run the course in pieces and then run the course in its entirety and get individual instruction on how to improve the trouble areas.
Courses will come from multiple venues, including NADAC, USDAA, UKI
